Privacy

Your documents are read once and discarded. When you use “Check my policy,” the document is sent to our AI provider to produce your answer, held in memory only for that request, and never written to a database, log, or file by us. We don't build a profile from it, train on it, or sell anything derived from it.

Documents are processed by Anthropic's Claude API under commercial terms that do not use API inputs to train models.

Your Vault lives on your device.Policies you save to the Coverage Vault are stored in your own browser (IndexedDB), not on our servers. We can't see them, and deleting one removes it instantly and completely. When you ask a saved policy a question, the document is sent transiently for that one answer — same as the one-shot checker — and discarded.

We keep standard, anonymous web analytics (pages visited, not who you are) to understand what questions matter. No coverage answers are associated with an identifiable person.

Renewal alert emails

If you set a renewal reminder, we store the minimum needed to send it: your email address, the renewal date, and the label you gave the policy — never the policy document itself. We use it only to send the reminders you asked for (double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm from your inbox). Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can have your reminders and email deleted entirely by writing to privacy@doesitcover.com.

Analytics and cookies

The site uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage — which pages are visited, roughly where traffic comes from. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visits; we use it only for aggregate statistics and never send it your documents, your questions to the checker, or your email address.

Advertising

Some content pages carry ads served by Google AdSense (never the policy checker or your Vault). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads, and Google's advertising cookies may serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses ad cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.

California privacy rights

California residents can ask what personal information we hold about them (for most visitors: nothing beyond a renewal-reminder email, if you set one), ask for it to be deleted, and will never be discriminated against for asking. We don't sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@doesitcover.com and we'll respond within the timeline California law requires.
