Terms of Use

By using doesitcover.com (the “site”), including the “Check my policy” tool, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site. Does It Cover is an independent publication.

Information, not advice

Does It Cover explains coverage in plain language and reads the documents you already have. It is not an insurance company, agent, broker, or advisor, and nothing on the site — including verdicts, guides, and answers produced by the policy-checking tool — is insurance, legal, tax, financial, or medical advice. Verdicts describe the general case; your policy's own language always controls, and coverage decisions are made by your insurer, not by this site. Confirm anything important with your insurer, plan administrator, or a licensed professional before acting on it.

The policy-checking tool

The “Check my policy” tool uses AI to read a document you provide and answer questions from its text. AI-generated answers can be incomplete or wrong. Only upload documents you have the right to share, and don't rely on the tool's output as a coverage determination — it's a reading aid, not a decision. How documents are handled is described in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no attempting to disrupt or overload it, no scraping or bulk-harvesting its content or the tool's output for republication, no probing or circumventing security, no using the tool to process documents you aren't authorized to use, and no unlawful use of any kind. We may limit or block access that violates these terms.

Intellectual property

The site's content — verdicts, guides, text, and design — is owned by Does It Cover or its licensors and protected by copyright. You may read, link to, and share pages for personal, non-commercial use; you may not republish or resell the content without permission. Cited sources remain the property of their publishers. Your documents remain yours — uploading one grants us only the limited right to process it to produce your answer.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability. Coverage rules change; despite the verification dates on every page, any page can be out of date.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Does It Cover and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the site's content or the tool's output — including denied claims, lapsed coverage, or purchase decisions. If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Third-party links and ads

Pages cite and link to third-party sources, and some pages carry ads or affiliate links (always disclosed). We don't control third-party sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves; the current version is always at this page, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: hello@doesitcover.com.
