The medical part of a travel insurance policy is emergency coverage. It's meant to pay for sudden, unexpected illness or injury while you're traveling — an ER visit abroad, an urgent hospital stay — not for planned, preventive services.
Vaccines and travel immunizations are preventive care you arrange in advance, so they fall outside that emergency scope. Most policies exclude routine and preventive care, which is the category vaccinations sit in.
The place to look for vaccine coverage is your regular health plan, not travel insurance. If you're traveling abroad, note that Original Medicare generally does not cover care received outside the United States, so travelers on Medicare often buy separate travel medical coverage for emergencies — but that still won't pay for pre-trip vaccines.
